One good way to easily skyrocket your product’s conversion rate is by using a subtle leverage which I refer to as ‘Borrowing Fame’. One very obvious example that you see a lot lately is in the product name.
Product name should be chosen carefully. And Borrowing Fame is a method where you choose a brand name or something similar that is very popular amongst your target market and use it to your advantage.
Here are some examples of product names on the internet marketing niche that borrows the fame of a popular brand.
Google Assassin
Google Nemesis
Google Massacre
Google Payload
Google Manipulator
Google Snatch
Etc…
All the above uses the brand ‘Google’ and at a subconscious level this boosts the credibility of the product and thus gives the product leverage on conversion.
Do you think ‘Google Snatch’ can be outsold by using a product name like ‘Web 2.0 Traffic’?
Do you think ‘Google Assassin’ can be outsold by using a product name like ‘Internet Marketer’s Tool’?
Not very likely. The name of the product actually plays a huge role to give you credibility and some branding to yourself. But of course your product’s content should be relevant to your product name for best results.
Other famous brands that you often see exploited include Clickbank, Affiliate, Adwords, Adsense, eBay, etc. Hence, when you do come out with a product, name it correctly… make sure it’s exciting… You can’t bore your customers into buying your stuff… it just won’t work.
