If you cannot take time out to host a chat session to talk to your visitors personally then you can create a survey and post it either on your blog or send them out to your visitors, or you can do both. Do not ask too many questions in the survey. No one likes to waste more than 30 to 40 seconds in filling out any questionnaire. Make your survey short, and give something of value for free upon completion of survey. Also make sure that the question asked in the survey is easy to understand and short.
Wait for 7 to 10 days for the response. Once you get the response, collect the data, and analyze it. You can also, afterward, post the result on your blog, and mention in the carrying post what all changes you are going to make in your blog as a result of the survey. This will motivate your visitors to participate in future surveys.
Study your competition
